The Environment and Sustainable Development Department at Depaex consists of multidisciplinary staff that is qualified to render the following consultancy services:

• Creation of Strategic Environmental Assessments in accordance with current legislation during the preparation of Plans and Programmes for Public Administration.
  
  
• Creation of municipal and regional Environmental Auditing, as well as implementation of Agenda 21. Citizen participation is consequently encouraged.
  
  
• Advice in land zoning and natural resource assignment. Use of SIG.
  
  
• Undertaking of Environmental Impact Assessments.
  
  
• Preparation of required documentation to acquire an Integrated Environmental Authorisation for facilities implicated as per the 1 July, 16/2002 Act  for Prevention and Integrated Control of Pollution.
  
  
• Production of Soil Status Reports, as well as Risk Assessment and Application of Technology for Polluted Soil Remediation.
  
  
• Technical Assistance in creating and implementing Integral Waste Management Programmes for solid Urban, Agricultural and Industrial waste.
  
  
• Creation of Environmental Restoration Programmes, closing and sealing of dumps, riverside, quarry and gravel pit restoration, etc.
  
  
• Creation of Integral Forecasting Systems and information on air quality.
  
  
• Technical Assistance for participating in calls for environmental projects.
  
  
• Event Organisation for environmental education, awareness campaigns and citizen participation, environmental workshops, etc.
• Creation of Civil Protection Programmes.
  
  
• Creation of Outer city Fire Prevention Programmes.
  
  
• Event Organisation for Conferences, Seminars, Info days dealing with Environmental issues.
